ABers who own cats, do you ever notice how they go into a 'taz' just before they visit the litter tray for a number 2 ? Ours go crackers racing around like their tails are on fire and after a few minutes of this they immediately go for a dump - then peace is restored to the household once more. It's a great signal that we know they are about to powder their noses...

We have a cat called Tazz and before he started going out he used to have his 'taz' just after visiting the litter tray! The older cats did as well.
All we've ever had from the ones we've had to keep indoors has been litter scattered far and wide and torn wallpaper!!
My Caspar doesn't go bonkers...but just after he's eaten, and heads upstairs to the tray,he howls like a banshee cat. He really wails. If he wasn't 'done', I'd think he was on heat.
My cat heads off to the fields, but my dogs "circle" that's how I know they need to relieve themselves.
There can be no ABers who own cats. But plenty who are owned by cats. My master exhibits no behavior as you describe prior to having an Ertha Kitt but he does go mad (or rather 'madder') when a storm is brewing.

The dog does tend to circle before having a #2. Indeed she spends most of her time circling. Had to stop five times before I got to the top of my street. With a €0.22 tax on carrier bags each walk is costing me a fiver.
