He said the rest of the UK must send a clear message: "We want you to stay".

Except of course many of the rest of the UK are not in the 'we'.

Should he use language like that, especially knowing many polls find that many of the remaining UK want the Scottish out?

//The Scots MUST vote for independence! It'll save the rest of us a fortune//

//Official figures from the previous year suggest Scotland spent £62 bn but raised just £45 bn — an annual subsidy from the English taxpayer of at least £17 bn//

No,DC does not speak for me!

Me neither.
I'm not bothered. I'm happy for them to make the decision as to whether they want to stay in the union or not.

Now, if the English were given a vote on whether THEY wanted to stay in the union, that would be interesting.

In view of the fact that at the last general election the Tories did not get a clear mandate D.C. represents & speaks for a definite minority, does anyone think that he suffers from delusions of grandeur ?

Well he can afford to, he is after all the Prime Minister of this country.

Aog, we agree ^^^ on something!
i don't know anyone who wants Scotland to get it's independence, including me.
He is the PM and is entitled to say his bit. And yes, he is speaking for me...Scotland ceeding from the rest of us sheer madness.
I had thought most of the polls, both of Scots and the rest of GB, favoured keeping the union. Certainly I would favour keeping the union, so I guess he is speaking for me in this specific instance :)
I think that many Scots don't want to go it alone, i really do believe we are better together than apart.
