Head Ache- Tooth Ache

I have had a tooth ache for a long time now. I went to the dentist. She said she would X-ray it and call me if there was a problem. She didn't call back . It got worse, so I made sure I used tepe interdentals well and corsydil mouth wash. It started getting a bit better. But for the last few days iv had an incredible headache.. Just on that side, that goes behind my eye, through my jaw and even aches in my throat. It makes the skin on that side of my head sore to the touch. It does come and go, but getting increasingly more. I don't have a temp. I don't know if I should be going to the doc or dentist.. Or what it could be.. As I know if I go to the docs, they will tell me to go away and come back on a few weeks if no better!!

Thank you by the way for all your answers.. Although I am slightly scared now after reading about people dying from it!!! I have left it quite a long time.. I'm not one to go to docs/ and to be honest my dentist has been so horrid, I have been put off going to her!! Hence the fact I'm in this situation!

Sounds like migrainous neuralgia. I get the pain right through my eyeball and sometimes in the teeth.

Change Dentists whatwith and go and see the GP first. It could be sinusitis, I get very similar symptoms with it

A dentist can write a prescription for antibiotics too !

Yes, although a dentist will charge. I went to GP first. She said take a week of antibiotics first and see dentist at the end of the course. This was only a few weeks ago.

That posting is totally unacceptable.

It sounds like migrainous neuralgia as suggested by NoMercy...see your GP.

Ibuprofen 400mgms is insufficient.

My sister in law had pain in her mouth/jaw/head for ages, and the dentist kept removing teeth, but nothing helped. It was found, after various investigative procedures, to be something called Trigemenal Neuralgia, she had an operation to cut a nerve, and that sorted it out. Hope this info helps you.
