Cullen Skink is lovely Scottish fish soup. milky and delicious. I can't imagine it with peppers in, I've only ever had it Scottishy!
gef the recipe i have given is the one my mother used to make when i lived in scotland many years ago.in them days they couldnt afford prawns and all the extras it was just basic and yes she did part boil the potatoes and thinly sliced on top .no nice crusty bread either just plain bread
Sorry wendilla, I wasn't critisising your Mum's recipe at all. Just pointing out that, like mine, it wouldn't be considered as Cullen Skink by some people. Put whatever you like in it I say and far better to make your own that buy something readymade from the supermarket. It's just a pity that many people don't realise that simple, nutritious home cooking does not have to be time consuming or expensive.
Gef I didnt take offence by what you said I should have put up the tradional recipe but just put the one up that I make .tradional recipes can be found by typing in cullen skink.
