My local India restaurant employs something similar for keeping your curries warm at your table. A tray with Tea lights and a ventilated shelf on which your dishes are placed. They seem to give off plenty of heat.
Dread to think what an insurer would say if there were an accident.

I was thinking more of the rest of you sybaritic ABers rather than myself. I just use a candle for light and have rigged a dynamo to my exercise bike and am pedalling away furiously to power the computer. That has the added advantage of keeping me warm.

Sandy, laptops do double up as hot water bottles if need be. The battery should last long enough to warm your feet up.

Jomifl, I'm knackered by the time I retire. I wouldn't want to have to start pedalling again to power the hot water bottle. Besides, the neighbours would wonder about the rattling and noise
