Right on target, Maydup:) I believe it is their tunic breast-pocket insignia as it has a screw-clasp fastener.
But it's very different to the pathfinder's wings??
Question Author
I should add that it's the Royal Air Force PFF. The US had their own version.
No idea about the clip but how long did it take you to lay out all those cotton buds? :)
I'm with gness - it definitely looks more like the Royal Canadian Airforce badge

That illustration is of a cap-badge, carrot99. I got this from my father who served in the RN during the war, and obviously had some RAF friends. Nobody who I know has served in the RCAF,
I'm sure you're right stewey it's just that the canadian goose feathers and those on your cap badge are more stylised and less `feathery' than the pathfinder badges.
Anti-aircraft corps?
Sorry, didn't see the last page!

Carrot99, that's what, in my opinion, makes these type of question interesting: different interpretations etc.. I have absolutely no "official" provenance regarding this item, so I can only go on the personal stuff I mentioned above and that site that I mentioned at 2039. Your comment about the feathers is interesting, and I will do some more looking up tomorrow. Right now, I have to find my path across the field to the bar...Cheers.
Atrium Bar and Grill? cheers stewey
Oh, I thought it was something to do with Baby_Sham's 'grow a penis' thread.
