I have sky TV upstairs in my bedroom and (it is linked to downstairs) and there are few cables attached here and there - if you even move the cables to brush or clean SKY goes off. I have dibbled here and there but cannot get it back on again.

Changed the cables around etc. Any know how. Miss it as I go to bed early - No it is an old TV and no freeview - even if I was to buy Freeview TV which some day I will - I will not be able to get my sky. TIA

You would be better off making sure the cables are going into the right sockets rather than any how.

You most likely have a loose connection on a cable that need sorting it isn't a difficult job.

If you are not confident I am sure you have a family member who could sort it for you.

Thanks Eccles I am confident in that respect - maybe I should look at the little ends of the sockets. I have done that before. Will go and have a nosey now.

well Eccles you were right - a loose connection - have got the Sky on but it won't change over etc. This happened before. Even if I get the one programme - I can have what I like on down stairs (with TV off of course) and watch it upstairs. Thanks for reminding me of loose connections. TA
Are you paying for the "two room" facility? I would get on to Sky and complain.
Do you subscribe to multiroom or do you use the magic eye system.......can you watch different channels on each tv?
Question Author
it has knocked off again even though I tightened the cables etc. I have the magic eye - I live on my own so TV is the same down and upstairs. I can't think what next to do. I have everything I want on SKY and at the moment even if I bought a new Freeview TV - I will still not be able to connect to SKY
I think you need a tv fella to come round and sort the connections out. Most companies that install aerials etc will be able to do it
Sounds like you need a man in to dibble for you.
Question Author
I do know of a man - he knocks about the doors - his nickname is Satellite - so when I see him next I will ask him to dibble. LOL do think he would like to dibble with me - he sees me with a twinkle in his eye!!!
You never know,Conn. You might get a free service. ;)
You need to turn the power back on to the magic eye. On the Sky box go into the Services menu then Settings and enable "RF2 Power" or what ever it's called. This then puts a voltage onto the cable connecting the magic eye, to provide it with power. It will automatically turn off the protect the box from damage if there is a short or other problem on the cable, so you have to turn it back on.

thanks lcd - but I done what you said there

Services
then Picture Settings and Sound Settings are the only settings that came up and even when I clicked onto them - there was no RF etc output -

I do think I saw RF years ago - could you please be more specific re your instructions. Thanks - I know it is very little to be done.
What box is it - just Sky Digital or is it Sky+ or Sky HD? Instructions differ by box type.

Hi LCD - Dizmo was helping me out earlier - I do think nothing will help as the remote control is not tuned to Sky.

I am SKY+ anyway. But thanks for any help Conne
