Of course they were. The JWs are a proselytising group; it's their duty to convert people to their beliefs. They're hardly going to be unpleasant to someone who is looking for some kind of religious salvation and who has come to them for help. And having been successfully brainwashed by them, you're now just another drone attempting to convert others to their way of thinking.
