Jesus said: “He that is not on my side is against me.” (Matthew 12:30)

Most people think that they are serving God acceptably, but the Bible says that Satan is “misleading the entire inhabited earth.” (Revelation 12:9)

Yes,Millions of people believe that they are worshipping / not worshipping God, but they are really serving Satan the Devil.

Goodlife, //one who ignores or lacks reason//

You.
//Funny how people get these strange ideas about JWs when they know nothing whatsoever about us. //

But I do :-)
For the interested reader: Google JW and "pioneer".
If god is omnipotent, then yes, it is his fault the world is in its present state. If he doe not choose to make things better, he is cruel or he is not omnipotent after all.
Goodlife, the ball is in your court.
Hi coccinelle // But I do :-) //
Would you like to enlarge on that. I can't find anything in your recent posts about you knowledge of JWs.
For quite some time now I have been under the impression that VE knows rather more about JWs that he is letting on. I wouldn't wish to intrude, but any chance of spilling the beans, VE?
My lips are soiled, Naomi.
No, sealed.
modeller; I've looked into a lot of religions with interest and JWs was one of them. I did a Bible study with them once so know what they believe in and through internet saw how their Watchtower society functions. I also have been in extended family who are JWs and I still have a lady who comes by to the house convinced she's going to save me and one day I'll see the light...
I don't comment on goodlife's threads usually cos that's his belief and I know how into it all he is, but this time I just wanted to tell other ABs that he's not wanting a discussion it's just the number of posts he's after.
VE, ha ha! I believe you – on both counts. ;o)

Coccinelle, his intention of clocking up posts to meet his remit been mentioned here many times before – possibly when he posted under the name of ‘Elderman’. Again, not wishing to intrude, but just out of interest, if you were curious enough to do bible study with them, what deterred you from joining them?
naomi, I could write a book about 'why not to become a JW'!! Other than quite a few of their beliefs which are way beyond belief, first thing I didn't like was it's 'us and them' us as in JWs who know the truth everybody else are worshipping Satan. They are very critical, look down on non-JWs, are supposed to tell their elders in the congregation if anybody in that congregation does anything wrong and if they don't it's a sin, need to preach to so many people per week, will willingly disassociate themselves with their parents, and family... in a nutshell JWs are governed by the Watchtower society who tell them what they can do and can't do.
Somebody who's lost and needs companionship could be attracted to this family but they are slowly brainwashed to believe anybody saying anything against the JWs is Satan's work. Just like goodlife, they don't listen and can't really think for themselves. Like I say I could write a book...

Coccinelle, //I could write a book... //

Not a bad idea. ;o)

I know Jehovah's Witnesses - and have had many discussions with Jehovah's Witnesses, but since Goodlife arrived I have toyed with the idea of going along to a few JW meetings - just in the interests of research, you understand, with no intention of arguing the toss. I wonder how welcome I would be?
Have just got back from step-daughter's barbie (draw appropriate inferences), and advise you, Naomi, not to bother. You wouldn't be unwelcome, rather the opposite I imagine, but you'd find the content stultifying and the possibility of rational discourse non-existent.
VE, rational discourse would never be a consideration - rather quietly solicitous observation at close quarters. ;o)
Oh dear. Moments after the initial notion formulates, stark reality elbows its way, once again, unceremoniously and uninvited, into my thoughts. Bet I couldn't manage it for long. :o/
VE, sometimes I'm not so quick - and it's taken me a few minutes, but I have now, rightly or wrongly, drawn appropriate inferences.

Funny some who say that that being brainwashed. In all honesty, my brain needed cleansing. The Witnesses who helped us learn about the Bible and those with whom we associated in the local congregation were very patient and kind. Eventually, I freed myself of all bad. (2 Corinthians 7:1)
OMG is now OMS ?
