We had our 8 month old mini lop castrated about two weeks ago because he was very teenagerish e.g being moody chucking his weight about and generally being unsociable. (no offence teens!) Ever since he was done he has been manically digging but we have laminated flooring so he isnt getting any where could the op have changed him a little?. He also had a scab appear on his hind leg which he will not leave alone the vet said it could be mange or an alergy gave him a jab and some fucidin cream and medicine too. I can get him to have the meds but he keeps licking the cream off what can i do to stop him doing it?.

Have you gone to your local Petsmart / Petco? They often have more helpful expertise, connections, and advise then many vets... I know that they have all different sizes of clown looking cones for around the neck so that your bun bun can't reach the topical meds. But then it surprises me that if that were an option that your vet wouldn't have offered it (at 5x the price), maybe there is a reason.

rabbits do destroy the elizabethan collars used to prevent licking quiet easily, i would not be keen to see the same vet again his advise seems a bit poor if he thought poss mange i would want to know why he hasnt done a skin scrape etc..
