I woke-up myself this morning praying - "God heal me from this cancer".
All day at work I thought of this dream, and couldn't get it off my mind.

Before going to bed last night I looked at a movie called 'The Intruders', and it was about ghosts haunting a house. Nothing about the sick, lame or anything of the sort.

What do you think about dreams? Do you believe in your dreams?
How profound do you think dreams are? Some say they are our subconscious speaking to us about past or future life.

I think dreams are nothing more than ordinary and every day thoughts, dreams, fears etc being played back but getting very confused in our state of sleep. I don't think people should place any importance on them at all.
I don't think they are anything to do with a past or future life, but probably do say a lot about your subconscious. At least, they could if we could interpret them accurately!
i have dreamt of being covered in spiders, all over me, the house, woke screaming, then of a nuclear holocaust, looking out the window seeing the world on fire, then of my o/h who passed away, that he said he never loved me, these are nightmares, and sometimes one can't explain it, unconscious mind rolling fears around perhaps.

Years ago, I used to wonder about dreams and if they could be interpreted, but as I've become older, I've come to the conclusion that when we're asleep, the brain has a chance to sort itself out and put things away in its filing cabinet.
I think that interpreting dreams can be dangerous, simply because everybody will inerpret dreams differently, I think they should be left as dreams and no importance placed on them.
I think it's to do with your subconscious.

I've had some recurring dream types where there are different circumstances but a common theme, I think when I feel stressed or out of control etc...

I have a lot of very vivid dreams, I always did but since I've been on certain medication it's increased. It sometimes takes me a while to realise I was dreaming and something didn't actually happen.
I've had an occasional recurring dream but one that kept on and on many years ago I didn't like at all. Having lost touch with in laws for a few years, I kept getting the dream of OH going to visit his parents but telephoning me to say "it was too late, his mother had died". I didn't put much store by it, but a few months later we were in the area his family lived and I said he should go and knock their door. When we did, a neighbour came out and told him his mother had died and it was around the time I was having the recurring dream.... I've had other cognitive dreams over the years and they have come true....don't know how and why they happen but they have.

As for scary dreams, yes we all get them...probably as Eve said, many reasons and shouldn't really put any significance on them imo.
I have had dreams/nightmares that have come true within the following weeks or months, some of which could not be predicted. However, most of the time dreams are exactly that. Dreams. They can put me in a great mood or on a bit of a downer for a day.

It doesn't happen often but I have had dreams (normally bad ones) that have come true within a few days or weeks. Some could be put down to coincdence but there are others that are just so out of the ordinary I can't explain it.
Last night I had a dream that I had won euromillions !!! Will it come true ??? Lol
Know what you mean Evian, however the dream I refer to for me I doubt was coincidence imo as we knew nothing at all from the family and they lived 200 miles away. It was so vivid too which is rare for me with any dreams I have.
Hope so MM lol.

hello society

i remember hearing a psychiatrist putting forward the theory that dreams are a by product of un-resolved issues and emotions
Daisy, I agree. Some just can't be put down to coincidence. If I have a bad and unusual dream about someone I love it keeps me secretly panicking for weeks
the human brain is a strange thing. Maybe you saw the Race for life advert on TV? Or the Macmillan one...Everything goes in your dream bank. Having said this...always a good idea to keep an eye on your wobbly bits...just in case!!
Why can't they be put down to coincidence?

Actually despite that I don't think you should ignore dreams entirely, but most of them are just random noise. I can't think of a profound dream I've ever had but some idle thoughts while half-asleep have been surprisingly profound. At least, profound in terms of whatever small problem I was working on.

Thanks my friend for sharing your thoughts on this subject.

My belief is that dreams are occurrences from passed life, or something to do with future life happenings. It could be about the actual dreamer or someone the dreamer may know.

I like to dream, and usually I dream straight according to my interpretation.
