i cant beleve this is happening again. i keep getting these horrible dreams that feels real. only slept for 40mins i felt i am being dragged away. it feels that im semi-concious and cant move, open my eyes, i tried to scream, shout make noise but nthing is coming out of my mouth, i tried to force myself to let loose ... then after a while i felt loose, and could open my eyes... then i saw things floatng in the air slowly disappearing, mayb im hallucinating, but it just feels so real.

it seems to be happenin at least once every two-three months. for the past 7 years. before feeling being dragged, the dream start of me being in medieval time! so werid. thats the first time actually knowing where i am.

often the dreams r like being dragged away, or not abling to move my body but can feel or hear things happening in the back ground.

there were 3 times i felt my body was floating in the air, and couldnt move an inch or scream. i could see flashing lights.but not being able to open my eyes. its a scarey experience. i dont to go back to sleep and experience this again.... whats wrong with me :(

It is possible you may be having an out of body experience. I've never had one but I've heard from people who have.
I suffer from nightmares but not the same sort of things that you are experiencing although sometimes they do have a surreal flavour to them.
My advice would be (and don't take this the wrong way) to go and see a psychiatrist and try to get to the bottom of why you're experiencing this. Often nightmares are the only outward symptom of a seemingly unrelated traumatic event and if so then a psychiatrist can help you unravel that.
I agree with Tiggerblue10; sounds like an out of body experience.
Hi there WB. The sensations you describe could be sleep paralysis. It's when you find yourself in the state of being half asleep, or half awake, and for a very short time (which may feel longer), you can't move your muscles.
I don't think there's anything wrong hun, but a friend of mine suffered similar attacks, which were caused by generally not getting enough sleep, and also anxieties. x
Would you try hypnotherapy. If they can take you back, you may find the root cause of the problem. I've always thought that I drowned in my last life, as I can watch Jacques Cousteau, but if I see a film where someone is just under the water, struggling, I fight for breath and realize I'm pushing with my hands, trying to get above the water. I can't even stand to have bed covers over my face and I wake up in panic. I also used to say what my Mum thought was 'baby-talk' when I was around 18 months old and it all turned out to be Russian from around the time of the revolution. I'd love to be regressed and see what it's all about!

thanks tigger, just read that link, its exactly how i felt and this is really scareing me. :(

there r times i just wanted to let it b n see where it will take me, but then get scared and try and make myself wake up. i dont know if its normal or not, but the floating in the air experience really felt i was out of my body!!

im not sure if i want to see a specialist, might think ive gone mad or something because it doesnt always happen.... will hypmotism (cant spell) help?
Hi there figure! As tigger's link suggested, WB could've been on the verge of an OBE, or experiencing sleep paralysis, but I'd sooner bet it was the latter. OBE's can occur naturally, but can also be self-induced, with practice. If they're natural ones, there's usually some catalyst which sets one off - exhaustion, stress, anxiety, fear, illness etc. Sleep paralysis is more common, and can be triggered by less severe forms of the above. Whitebear - I shouldn't worry too much hun. Get plenty of relaxation, and I'm sure the symptoms'll disappear. x

you could b right there too icey. i do have sleeping problems due to alot of thinking, worries and anxieties. mayb thats the main problem. but how do u explain the feeling being pulled away or floatin in the air?.. its really hard to explan until u have actually experienced it.

The specialists won't think you're mad WhiteBear. Thats what they are there for.
My son has these experiences from time to time. He wakens up, though he can`t move and he feels really scared. He can`t open his eyes though he feels there is someone in the room who frightns him. He is 20. His doctor says it is not uncommon, something to do with sleep patterns. I didn`t really understand though he felt better about it havng spoken to his doctor. Well he did until it happened again ??

i sometimes feel its time for me to go and sprits r there to take me away.

my mum bought me this chinese pendant years and years ago that 'supposley' gets rid of the bad sprits around me. i have just put the pendant round my neck lol.
i think im gettin abit paranoid. but i am scared.

i will try and stop being paranoid and try and get some sleep in abit. but my heart is still kinda racing. but i will b fine soonxx
Are you on any particular medication, which could be causing this, like anti depressants or slimming drugs?
souns more like sleep paralysis than OBE - the OBE feeling could just be a regular dream; dreams of floating etc are pretty common. But feeling helpless and paralysed and half-conscious (which happens to me once in a while) is more likely sleep paralysis.

Dont be frightened if u think its spirits.......talk to the spirit and tell them they are bothering you and you need to sleep.

Give the spirit a special place away from your bed, (ie in the hall) and tell them to stay there and guard the house.

You'll be able to sleep peacefully then.
Yes could be right Jno. Now you mention it, I recall documentaries about sleep paralysis and people mentioning seeing figures around their bed and coming out of cupboards, but being unable to move or shout out.

You should probably see your GP Whitebear and asked to be referred to a Sleep Disorder Centre. They will monitor you whilst you sleep and be able to administer suitable treatment to help you.

I suffer regularly with the same sort of nightmares as you. I believe it to be due to anxiety and sleep paralysis. I am an extremely anxious person and also suffer from insomnia. I often feel far more tired in the morning than I do all day, due to lack of sleep and constant nightmares.

My sleep paralysis and nightmares are far worse than any horror films I have ever seen!!

I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with you as there are a lot of us with the same problem. I put my nighttime horrors down to my anxious state (for which I take medication).
