I'm off to Brussels soon for a few days of Moules, Frites, Beers and Music.

It's one of my favourite cities and (as well as feeding my face with beer and food) I'm looking forward to visits to the Musées Royaux des Beaux-Arts de Belgique and the Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinée - plus assorted TinTin related stuff.

It's been a while since I was there, so any recommendations for places to eat/drink/visit would be very welcome.

Thanks dave. tony thinks about going and placing a Birmingham City football shirt under it.
What about the atomium (sp) I was last there in 74. Inside the balls was incredible, well it was then.
Question Author
Have done that before Jeza - but may get the metro out to the Atomium if I get time.
Restaurant Vincent for traditional Belgian food (moules and fish)

T'Misverstand if you take a taxi (SSE side from the Gare du Midi (Zuid) - brilliant steak and frites...cottage like restaurant

Let me think of some more - do you want a Michelin.....?
Question Author
Michelin quality yes please DT - but nowhere that I have to get dressed up for (the little black dress is at the cleaners).
Aux Armes de Bruxelles - further up the street from Vincent (just off the east side of the Grand Place)

La Maison de Cygne....Grand Place.

La Roue d'Or trad Bruxelles bistro
all one star
Dave, you could always borrow my errrrrrrrm kilt !.
Le Ravenstein r Ravenstein, just behind the Central Station and Shell (climbs up the hill to the main Royal Palace.....

Enjoy the Orval (my fav) a Trappiste beer - well worth finding - oh and visit Robs supermarket - makes Waitrose look amateurish...their wine and cheese, though Delhaize has the better Bordeaux selections and was far cheaper in my day than buying in France..
Le Fourneau pl. Ste-Catherine is good if you like Provence cooking.....sit at the bar and dine, a high tech kitchen on show. But not very Belgian.....
Question Author
Thanks DT - and "thanks, but I'll pass on that" Tony :)
Thought that you might, dave ;-)
La Truffe Noire, Bois de la Cambre, end of Av Louise (main shopping st). very good one star...specialising in, yes you have guessed it

and Bon Bon Avenue de Tervuren (taxi ride) 1 star and good.

Two star: for me there is only one, Comme Chez Soi, in the rue Rouppe (pretty close to the centre) though they say the Sea Grill in Rue Fossé aux Loups is really good. Down near the Gare du Midi

sorry the Comme chez is down near the Gare du Midi...
