I'm putting this question here because I not to sure were it should go.

I would like to know if any one can tell me how the Legal Aid system works in this country. My daughter is trying to get access to her son who lives with his grandma but has been told that because the combind income of her and her boyfriend is over 27000 a year she will not get Legal aid to help fight her case.

This being the case how is it that some one like Micheal Carroll the lottry winner can. Surely he hasn't spent 9million in that short a time. I know there was supposed to be a judgement on it but I havn't heard anything else about it since last week. Did he get it? and if so why?

Thanks for your time

Thanks Gary that helped.

My brother had the same problem, he was about 500 a year over the threshold so he reduced his hours at work. There was no way he could afford to pay the costs. The worlds barking, all he wanted to do was see his son.
