Hi all. My 14 year old daugher has, what looks like broken blood vessels in her right eye. Its under the eyelid, not causing her any problem. I dont know if its be aggrivated by her keep lifting the eyelid to look at it. She has had no eye injury, nor is she on any medication. Does anyone have any idea what it is, and does it require medical attention? Thanks

Hi Minxie, obviously the first thing, is to get her to the doctors, now, I had something similar, turned out it was an insect that had flown into my eye, and it carried with it some sort of poison from a plant that had been sprayed. I'm not saying that is the same with your daughter, but without knowing the reason, and it could be one of many, she should see the gp. Good luck, and I wish her well.

Is it bright red? I have had a burst blood vessel in my eye, there was no pain and by the time I got to see the doc about it, it had started to fade like a bruise does. They seem to appear for no apparent reason, and they look worse than they are. It's sensible to get it checked out for your peace of mind, if you can't get to see the doc, your optician will probably take a look.
If there's any pain or discomfort tho, get her looked at asap.

Hi Lonnie, I rang the doctor to make appointment, and spoke to the doctor who said the same as you puzzled. Yes it is a burst blood vessel and there is nothing they can give for it, and that it would fade like a bruise. I think my daughter had probably not helped as I think she spent most of yesterday showing it off to anyone who would look! LOL, Thanks for your replies
