Just had a renewal quote from Saga for house and contents. They have increased it by 25% to £623% last year they increased it by 23%. I think they are being a bit naughty, so I am going to have a look round at what is available. Anyone know of any reasonable companies that are easy and helpful to deal with? Thanks for any response.
I know it should be in insurance but get a bett response in CB.

We're with Hastings Direct for our contents, (don't need house insurance), and found them very good price wise.
We're with Direct Line and have claimed for various things over the years. We have found the cover to be good and their attitude when dealing with the claims was good too.
However, we have queried the premium each year for the last 2 or 3 years and each time we got a substantial reduction. They said that they used some sort of multiplier to do with our postcode to produce the premium that they automatically send out, but are able to adjust when when they look at your individual property.
So, as well as looking at comparison websites and/or checking with a broker and/or chekcking with companies directly, I'd definitely give Saga a call and ask them what they can do for you. (Assuming you were happy with Saga's service.)
Good luck.
I never go through the comparison sites, it cheeses me off when I set out what I want and they bring me back results that look good till I read through and find out they are not what I want.
