I have sent yet another e mail to the bbc asking if they are going to put 'the lif and tims of David LLoyd George onto DVD It puzzles me why thay are so slow in doing this

They're probably trying to work out what lif and tims means.
The series was first shown 32 years ago, with the BBC only holding the broadcast rights, not the film rights. The chances of BBC Wales being able to contact all of the actors, from every episode, (or the beneficiaries of their estates, where relevant), as well as others whose permission is required before the BBC can obtain the film rights (so it can be put onto DVD) are extremely slim.

I don't know if it's on DVD at all. The woman who played his wife went on to become Mrs Alfred Hitchcock and edited some of his films.
