I have decided that as Xmas cards are expensive and even 2nd class stamps are 50p that I will donate £75 to my local dogs home and know that this year the money has been well spent!

stopped sending cards about 15 years ago - also give a donation to charity
Well done 888 xx
I think the Royal Mail may have killed the goose that laid the golden egg.
Now isn't the following ridiculous.

http://www.thewhistlefish.com/# 6 inch square cards, nice paper and 15 cards (any choice) for £6

That's 40p a card - and how much is a 2nd class stamp? Ridiculous.

Mine are the Sheep Xmas cards, naturally.

Every year I give money to charity and say I'm not doing cards.

And every year I end up giving in and doing both...

I must ask Santa for a spine this year.
A friend of mine donates to charity aswell.
I think it is a brilliant idea and like you say..money well spent and to a good cause.
The cards end up for recycling anyway, whereas at least the money would go where you want it to.
I do both as well 2sp !

Well it's been v hard to break the habit (still sent one to auntie in NZ and for my mum) but I hope that all my friends know I care even if they dont get a card!!
Good on you sally. At the end of Christmas, cards are just launched in the bin, or perhaps recycled by the conscientious. Cards are a waste of money for the buyer and a nuisance to the receiver. 75 quid could save a little doggies life!

I agree - will have to post a cheque cos if I hand deliver it, I will be coming home with a load of homeless dogs!!
