what is happening to the weather, we had snow from 0430 weds, turned to slush after many accidents during the rush hour, sunshine pm now a mild night, the question is, do I keep my thermals on or break out my shorts and sandals?
I was working outside for 12 hours per day, apart from breaks, from 7am to 7pm for 4 days in Rushden, Northants, last week. It was a bit nippy at times!
I'm doing a 3-hour job (7am to 10am) in Kent on Friday, which also promises to be rather cold, but I'm getting very well paid for it!
on the local radio weds morning a man from the county council said they were sorry the roads had not been gritted although below freezeing temperatures were forecast, they played a tape of the same man four weeks ago saying the council was ready with surplus grit.
Not joined up thinking.
NK:
I was standing on a footpath trying to persuade pedestrians and cyclists to stop (in the freezing cold, and often in darkness) in order to answer lots of silly questions about the purpose of their journey and where they'd come from and were going to. It was on behalf of Sustrans (the charity which promotes cycling and walking, and who'd paid towards the creation of the route).
sounds interesting Buenchico but not a good time of year for the job. I`d be interested in `Sustrans` so must look it up-the cycling interests me especially if it`s `off road`. It`s a bit dangerous out there now i`m older!!
