please post all your sightings here... giving as good a description of the location as possible. I will update from the birding sites if anyone has any
special areas of interest might be worth putting the bird species in uppercase at the start of the post to help us spot stuff of interest

When it is updated this site is good

Two jays at peanut feeder in my garden. Think they come from local woods.
Northants. The Sixfields waxwing have moved to St. James Business Park.
There are ten waxwing at the A45 end of Little Irchester village.
One short-eared owl has arrived at Maidwell near Blueberry Farm. We took picnics last winter when twenty four entertained us in one field.
Thanks for all the info gness, they are everywhere bar Brum !
Well Redman if you and Rowan ever jump on the train to Kettering I'll take you waxwing hunting....or, if they all turn up, a short-eared owl picnic. x
Rowan said that would be lovely... we are in london next weekend and I expect Birmingham will have hundreds while we are gone. Be nice to meet up some time and Kettering is not that far. The owls would be a big temptation too.
I shall keep my eye on the owls and tempt you both then. x
Over 12 waxwings have been found dead near a rowan tree just down the road from me:-( evidently they'd been eating fermented berries...good way to go though
That's sad to hear carrust !
Rowan and I cannot get to see any sober ones at present but it's early days

Saw a red kite hovering over the road this morning on my way to work, lovely looking bird. Not very rare now, I know but still a great sight.
