I have currently put on a lot of weight can anyone suggest any methods of gradually loosing weight?

Just the usual one. Take in less food energy in each day than you have been doing in the past.
and exercise a bit more. Even if you don't lose much weight you will be fitter.
Eat less.Move more.
I went to slimming world a few years ago and found the support in a group really helped me.
Have you been eating a lot of rubbish? that you can change into healthier stuff ?
Read Paul McKenna's book "I can make you slim" It is very sensible and you do not need any special foods - meetings - strange diet combinations. It really works as it changes the way you think about food and the way you eat permanently.
Www.myfitnesspal.com is great. I've lost 3 stone just through typing in what I eat each day. You learn what foods are rubbish and just not worth the calories and which ones are good for you and low calorie. And nobody has to see it but you, so no point in cheating. Plus I look at my total over the week rather than daily. Also alternate day fasting is great for health as well as weight loss - google it and watch the bbc programme on it.
Cut out the nibbles and don't eat after 6.30pm. Drink loads of water, eat fruit and steam yr veggies! Don't drive, walk as much as possible.
