Can anybody please tell me why every time I switch on PC the time s showing what I think is the current time at the Date line. I keep resetting it and making sure it is set to GMT but the time just keeps changing. It is very puzzling.

sorry, what do you mean "the current time at the date line"? - that IS GMT?
Boxtops:
The time at the International Date Line is either 12hours ahead of, or 12 hours behind, GMT (depending upon whether you're to the West or the East of the line).

Mrs LB:
Are you simply changing the time on the clock or changing the time zone? Right-click on the clock and select 'Adjust Date/Time'. Click on the 'Time Zone' tab. Use the drop-down menu to select 'GMT'. Then use the 'Date & Time' tab to correct the clock. Then (IMPORTANTLY) click on 'APPLY' (NOT just on 'OK'. Then click 'OK'.

Chris I see - I was thinking "date line" meant the GMT date line.

No the time at GMT is about 12 hours ahead of date line, and it is where the dates change. I think it's official title is The International Date Line

Thats what I have been doing, and it is always set for GMT anyway. but it is just the time changes. It's only been doing this for the last couple of weeks.
Its most likely a battery fault or possibly a virus. Google "Clock on PC wrong" or have a look here for example.
