Yes indeedy... pain in the butt! I've even shouted at them from the front window! I'm sure they even write their little card out before they get out of their van.
Haven't had that problem Daisy, though I know others who have.
My gripe is that our new postman seems to feel the need to bend every letter before he posts it, despite the letterbox being plenty wide enough!
Daisy , answerbank won't solve the problem . Getting in touch with your local delivery office will .
Yes I have - and twice things through the door which needed a signature, we were in, just popped through the letterbox. I complained at the local delivery office, it hasn't happened since.
I think the post office do not want the ordinary poster .Its like the drink price the ordinary man out of it .Time there was others delivering the post
And don't forget to mention the millions of packages which are successfully delivered every day to Britain's 22 million addresses .
happens all the time with me. i then arrange re-delivery and they stick another card through the door on the second delivery.

i wrote a snotty letter to them last month when it happened, because the packet i was waiting for was very important. got a response from them apologising and assuring me they would talk to the roundsmen ...well we'll see

Excelsior, would write to them but I would rather save the stamp for my grandson's birthday card. Not near enough to deliver it by hand.
Must say I have a brilliant postman. No complaints whatsoever!

Lucky you spot. I must admit to being jealous. Hope you keep your present postie!
I think our postie is dyslexic. Everyone gets someone else's mail. Complaints are never heeded.
There was a letter in the paper the other day saying that the writer had answered the door because they saw the postman come up the path and he was writing a card out to post through the letter box. The writer said not to bother as he would accept the packet but wondered why the postie had not knocked or rung the bell before filling in the card. Postie said that for security reasons they did not now carry packets and it was up to you to claim the packet at the Post Office. He could just have been a very quick thinking idle git but as this has happened to me so many times then I tend to believe him. Just what are we paying postage for? Could be a substantial round trip for some people and not fair on the elderly or infirm.
Strange. Isn't it a fact that 'The Postman Rings Twice?'
Ah, complainers should live in a village. Our postie not only delivers letters but signs for anything to be signed for, to save me the trouble. Er....yes.

Delivery drivers are more of pain, we find. They cheerfully drive up simply to bung a card through the letterbox, inviting me to ring some number, at my expense,to invite their firm to send a driver to do the same again, or drive thirty miles to some desolate industrial estate, to an address the satnav can't find, to collect the item in person, producing a passport and utility bill to do so. Dead convenient!

it seems to be the norm now to just leave it on the doorstep, why should the postie worry after all the parcel is not for him ! The stuff that has to be signed for is the bet solution but that is usually delivered by a courier not the post office.
You need to stick this notice on your door.

Actually saw a Parcelforce driver drop a package that was for me (Panasonic digital camera) and then kick it along the path ! He didn't know I was watching so when I challenged him he said "well it's wrapped in bubblewrap!!"
Phoned up and complained and he was brought to the phone to apologise ! He had also already signed for it for me ! Told him I could have said it was never delivered but that didn't seem to bother him. Hey ho !!
