I remember a TV programme shown on April 1st where Italians were shown picking spaghetti from trees.
The Financial Times once offered to sell bargain properties on the tropical island of Sans Serif on April 1st.
I once took the rotating arm out of the distributor so that my wife could not start the car. When I fixed it I got a big hug. I would have got something very unpleasant if i had told her the truth.

It was David Dimbleby in 1957. He did a spoof Panorama documentary:)
Too slow again lol:)
ok nox :-)
...might even have been Richard Dimbleby ;-)
I liked the one with the London Marathon that was very close to April 1.

The Beeb showed footage of long distance endurance running in Japan where they will cover loads and loads of miles over say a week.....They then showed two Japanese runners going through the London finish and jogging away (obviously running down slowly to counter lactic acid) - and how they probably did not understand that this was the finish.

Chaos in London as folk were approaching Oriental joggers and trying to indicate to them that the race had ceased.......
Some Government minister fooled plenty of people last week but was a few days early.
I remember one as a kid when a current affairs program did a story about a product that was sprayed on the television antenna that would convert a B&W TV to colour.
^ ha ha, that is brilliant.
Sans Serriffe was a Guardian April Fool:-

What pranks are you all planning to do on April Fool's Day. By the way, do not forget to say "Rabbits" first thing the morning to have good luck all month long.
