My car is getting collected on Friday and it's fairly clean inside. A little dusty and a few bits on floor etc, nothing major. My mum is insisting I need to dust it and vac it all out before it goes back. I think it's fine as it is and will be getting valeted anyway. Surely it doesnt matter? Anyone know if you can be charged if it's dirty lol?

Leave it back the way you got it. Then everyone will be happy.
If theres anything they don't like they will charge you. Nornmal valeting is ok.
I think a reasonable amount of dust and so on is expected by the hire company - so if that is reasonabkle, then return the car as you have it now.

If you've been using it to ferry pigs about, or a load of manure for your allotment, then perhaps a quick hoover would be appropriate.

As far as i am concerned, the valet on receipt and return is part of what I am paying for when I hire.
Well....lol...we used to have lease cars at work. I used to swap mine when it needed cleaning...

They'll be sending it for a valet anyway.
Most lease cars returned go to be resold and will be valeted properly. I advise out drivers to clean the car inside and out, check for any personal belongings inc cd player.
check you have service manual, locking nuts, spare keys etc and when its picked up go over with the driver as they will note any scratches etc. anythign that is not considered fair wear and tear will be recharged back to your company/you
they are more interested in body damage (ie scuffs/dents etc) than how clean the interior is...as said wherever it goes it will be valeted.
As said above they employ their own team of valets on returned cars. On a different point I'm surprised how much petrol they need to fill up the tank again after you having filled it yourself before returning.
They wouldn't be too happy if you took the car with the bonnet (hood) looking like this

Hell no it's nothing like that lol. Did have a few scuff marks/scratches but just paid £80 for them fixing. Only other thing I've forgotten til now is the mirror on the sunvisor is completely smashed. No idea how it happened. Wonder if they'll charge for that? Oh and it isnt used to ferry pigs, just children, I'm a childminder ha ha.
