Have you got a good memory? I understand the older we get the harder it becomes to memorise, but what about you lot?

Im good at remembering numbers, probably cos of telephonist training many moons ago.
I'm terrible at remembering names, but never ever forget a face even from school days
I have to write things down which I need to do - but I put that down to having so much in my head (work included) that I can't possibly remember it all otherwise. I have to take a shopping list with me, I can't manage without.

However, I do have a long-term memory too - I remembered the name of a neighbour from 20 years ago the other day - it dredged up from somewhere in the depths!

I think it gets harder the longer we live, as we add more memories all the time and the brain has to sieve out what's important, and archive the rest.
I can remember most of the children who were in my class at school over 40
years ago but I can go out in the kitchen and forget why! Is it always the
short-term memory that goes first? I'm always forgetting names also. I can
describe them [not always very flatteringly] but not put a name to the face.
I once had a go at mr. cupid because I thought he was getting too friendly
with a lady in our local Chinese take-away. When I asked him who it was he
said it's our next door neighbour you daft thing!
I can remember things from way back, but I have to write things to do now down.
I can`t remember what I did to-day......oh yeah.....nothing.
