It is now tweleve months since I gave up smoking, would I get a reduction in premiums if I notified life insurance companies of this as i think they loaded the policies when I took them out?

It depends on their rules for how often the policy can be reviewed but they certainly do load the premiums. Well done!

the question on the application forms normally only ask if you've smoked in the last 12 months
