Hi Chuck

Can you please help me out regarding my Bookmark Toolbar problem?

I am operating on XP and my browser is Firefox 8.0.1

When I first switch on my computer, the toolbar along with it's preloaded icons fails to appear.

To get it to show I must first go into View/Toolbars, noting that it is ticked (which it always is) click on customise and then click on the top R/H cross to immediately remove the customise window.

When this window goes the toolbar and it's icons appears.

Is there a simple solution Chuck?

The other thing that can make this sort of thing happen is having two toolbars positioned in the same place, so one is basically on top of the other (so unticking and re-ticking the bookmark in the view menu just brings it to the front)

If you click view > toolbars > customize you can drag the toolbars about and check there isn't two in the same place.

Thanks for those answers, but I am afraid i might lose all my bookmarks if I try to do anything drastic, not being a techo sort of bloke.

Can't see any of my toolbars there Chuck, but I did drag the Bookmark toolbar from it's position and into the customise window and there wasn't anything underneath the place it came from.

I have now dragged it back.

I already told you the correct procedure .. and you elected not to do it.
Why keep asking?

You just reset the toolbars as explained.
come on albags, be patient with him, he is an old git.
it'll be Firefox 9 any minute now so a whole lot more problems will be due quite soon
lol .. Did I sound impatient? : )

ZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
zzzzzzzzzzzz.................................
.....
I'm using Firefox 9 now .. and it seems ok, as most of them are.

Thank you again for all your answers, sorry AlBags if I made you loose your patience with me, but it may seem simple to you and others, but just providing me with links, and advice about backing up my bookmarks etc, without any information on how to do these tasks leaves me rather contused, sorry.
Just restart in add-on disabled mode and reset the toolbars.
You won't lose anything.
Also update to Firefox 9 .. I am finding it pretty fast .. especially starting up.
