Why is it impossible to change one's Username within AB, but all other Profile details can be altered:; including 'Sex' !!? :-)

FYI, CF may be a mod but doesn't actually run AB... :-)

The answer is the same as any other question about why anything within a piece of software is the way it is - because that's how it's been designed and developed.

It would cause major confusion of people could jut change their username whenever they wanted to.

I forget my profile was showing female... I might change that back now.

Because the username is the vital bit of information we are all known by - the rest of the information is really irrelevant, IMO.

My date of birth in my profile currently says I'm 12.... I set it to mental age rather than real age:)

The facility to change username was removed in early 2005 following a spate of cloning whereby 'trolls' would approximate other legitimate usernames to pass themselves off as that/those person(s).
