To decorate the main bedroom of a bog standard, bay windowed, terrace house.

Currently the walls and woodwork are cream and will be painted white. Prep work to the woodwork has already been done. The ceiling is not being painted...

This is a rented room.

Can anyone have a guess?

I'm just very curious after a phone call I just received...

She's lost in Oz!
For family, i'd have thought £50 plus the paint.
Some of them do think that they are Michelangelo....or is that Da Vinci this week, as that is more appropriate for the weeks to come.
That's only half a days work.
£50, the paint, and a couple of glasses of wine and a good pasta.....
£100 round here! 2 coats in one day and some skirting!
Exactly, Annie. That's what I said. I did my lounge when the kids went to bed, and I was finished just after midnight. Doesn't take that long, if you get stuck in.
Cooking is a good idea actually, DT. Exchanging services rather than money.
paint-overable in 6 hours and they do the gloss meanwhile x
OHs uncle has done odd jobs around the house, not only does he charge £100 a day but he also sleeps over, gets fed meals and takes control of the tv remote!

The person who did the one wall is the same person who is getting someone in to do it...

I don't think I'd trust Claire.....

Poor you Red...
So they will have to put two coats on the woodwork all round the bay window and the door, plus skirting board and if you are having white on the walls you will need two coats to do it properly. And when all that's done, the ceiling will look dreadful and you'll wish that had been done - in fact you'll have to have it done or it will drive you potty. I think it will take longer than you imagine if you want it to look good.
When I was younger I would have got a pot of paint and a brush and did it myself. I could put wallpaper up with the best of them. Needs must if you haven't got much money.

Like I said...It's a rented room in a house.

She's said, as she's already bought dulux one coat gloss, that one coat will do. Not sure what she said about the walls....

Lol....nooooooooooooo. She was going to do it herself and had already bought the gloss for the woodwork. Normal emulsion for the walls :-)
phew. thank goodness :)
you say that, alba, an old house of mine, built in cob, was covered in an oil-based paint until they realised the error of their ways. When I moved in, they still had big damp issues as to "aid" the process, they were using Calor Gas stoves in these wonderful inglenooks, rather than lettinga good wood or coal fire gradually "die" through the night.

The repair was interesting!
my worst nightmare was the woodchip wallpaper. Plus a few coats of paint on top of that. Thankfully it was only in one room
