My dishwasher doesn't seem to be cleaning properly. It seems to throw up a lot debris on finishing and the dishes are often still very wet. I've took out the round thing at the bottom and give a good clean and I'm very careful how I stack the dishes and rinse them prior to putting them in. To be honest, other than stacking it, I'm not that savvy with them as this was the first one I've had, which came with the house and no instructions! I'm sure it's a simple solution, but I haven't a clue!

warning about salt. our dishes were coming out of the dishwasher with a milky sheen. after some enquiries were told to reduce the salt that the machine takes in. this is programmed so needed the book. still no good. so, left the salt door open, ran the machine empty, cleared out all the salt. now just use cheapo asda dishwashing tablets, they contain salt and cleaning compounds, dishes perfect, EXCEPT if you over fill the machine with dishes etc. no need to rinse them first, just scrape off any food into the bin as you would do anyway. wouldn't be without it, and its far more hygenic.
