I might have made a mistake......

Dishwasher isn't draining, having taken panel off side I can see a clog of grottiness, presumably fat.

I've tried soda crystals, a dishwasher cleaner and now....perhaps fatally have thrown in a biological washing machine tablet.......it is looking very foamy inside my dishwasher!

I can't believe I can kill my dishwasher with foam and assuming it survives this and a good dose of biological cleaning hasn't helped eat the fatty deposits......any other suggestions?

Boiling water will melt the fat.

I'm sure it would if I could get it into the complex tank system of my dishwasher, hence me using a high temperature wash with various solutions.....

Not going my way so far :-(

I'm the D/washer in our house, find it quite relaxing and a great excuse to stand in front of the window and see what's going on.

I suspect if I go to the dishwasher section of John Lewis tomorrow and ask for a Baldric they will give me a blank look and offer me a Bosch which is the model currently giving me grief!
I found my dishwasher drain hose was split.
Daughter fixed the new one I brought.
After a few days stopped draining. I looked on internet and told her it was either hose layout or drain spigot. She came back and we found a bit of lemon peel clogging the drain spigot.
Now all working well.

I can see where the problem is in the tank/reservoir network Grasscarp. I'm struggling to find the right solution to dissolve it though.....
Once this happened to ours. The repair man kind of got down, applied his lips, and blew really hard ---eeeew -----but it did the job.
You could try caustic soda in hot water but stand well clear when you put it in!!!
our old dishwasher did that sometimes.

two things always fixed it, clearing out the filter on the drain pipe (this was in our under sink cupboard so you should be able to get access to it)

then a couple of kettles of boiling water down the drain inside.

let us know how you got on x

Thanks Belrec, but I think Mosaic has the answer.

I'm going to persist with hot washes and lots of vinegar and soda crystals today in the hope I don't have to resort to Mosaic's suggestion.......bleurghhhh!
Have you got a balloon or blow up bed inflator or even a powerful hairdryer to avoid using one's lips?
