Just got in from a long day at placement with Uni. Fair play I was dreading it as elderly care never appealed to me (not the actual people I love them! But the staff and their attitudes of task orientation and not about the person) anyway I have been very pleasently surprised the past week and am considering maybe settling in this area when I qualify. Hope everyone else has had a good day xx

Glad you had a good day roxie, I worked in a residential care home for a couple of weeks a while back, what an eye opener. I can't stop getting old but I hope to heaven I never get put in there, the staff were horrendous. Will you be far from home if you settle where you are? Enjoy your evening x

Bednobs, I spoke to my mother and she wanted me to at least finish this year (I have this placement and one more module to do) so I thought I would give it a go. I didn't want to make another thread about it because I didn't want to seem attention seeking or something like that lol. But after just a week of this placement I absolutely LOVE it :) xx

AYG, that's why elderly cre never appealed to me because of the staff, which isn't nice as they do need care, but my life, they are all so lovely on the unit I am on at the moment and really is client focussed. It;s about 20-30 minutes drive from me at the moment so not bad at all. xx
