I am glad you said that, craft. Some kid would love to own a raquet like that :o(
I would be interested to know how much fine was imposed for that display of disgusting behaviour - Tim Henman reckoned it would go into 4 figures.
5 would be nicer :p
I think they get their rackets free of charge nowadays as part of advertising the logo on them. Far different to the days when all Wimbledon players were deemed to be 'amateurs'. In those days they had to buy them from the manufactures and to make legal the players amateur status they were charged a penny each for them. Makes one think doesn't it. Furthermore, the players were only paid expenses, which was a laugh, because they were paid on a doubling-up system......One arrived at tournament 'A' and was paid expenses and then proceeded to 'B' where it had been agreed for expenses from 'A' to 'B' and then on to 'C' .However, 'C' would then agree to pay from 'B' to 'C' and onto 'D'. etc etc.

Complicated, but it worked to ensure that a good income was received by 'amateurs.

Glad he won. Yes, he does have a temper but so did a certain Mr McEnroe. Now older and wiser he is such an affable guy when commentating, so I'm sure it's something Djokovic will grow out of.
Anyone remember Tim Henman being disqualified for hitting a ball girl with a ball in a fit of temper?

I also am pleased that Djokovic won. He now is truly the world no.1 although his ranking by reaching the Wimbledon final was such that, had he lost today, he would still have gone into the no.1 position.

Anyway, that apart ,I am concerned about Philtaz who is still double faulting. Something he needs to get on the ball about and get some coaching to put it right.:-)☺☺☺

I was impressed to see Djokovic divert the crowd's applause for him to the 18-year old Australian he had just beaten.
I have heard that Nada actually played the last two matches and a bit with a stress fracture in his ankle.

Did he winge about that in his exit interview - No, unlike one Hayes with his bust toe. Nadal was superbly gracious and complimented Dj on his mangificent tennis.
What 18 year old Australian did Djokovic beat????

Ron.
Djokovic beat 18-year-old Australian Bernard Tomic 6-2, 3-6, 6-3, 7-5
Qualifier Bernard Tomic in the quarter finals
Bernard Tomic.....
My apology Euphemia; I was only thinking of the final. I didn't see the quarter final but from all reports it wasn't an easy victory for Djokovic against Bernard Tomic.

Ron.
It was a good game, Ron, and I think we'll be seeing a lot more of Tomic in the future.
Hope so.♥♥♥...Ron
