Why do women not like being on their own for any length of time but most men don't mind? Is this why a lot of women get into relationships with totally unsuitable men just so they are not alone?

yes i'd say i can be selfish and probably set in my ways.
I don't mind being on my own at all! I am married to a lovely bloke who lets me have all the space I need to pursue my myriad hobbies. I lived on my own for 5 years before I met him, and during that time, I got myself on track (after severe depression) and learned a lot. I swore I would never get involved with anyone again in fact. So much for that! BUT now, It's kinda nice to have the best of both worlds! This is my fourth marriage and I know from experience, that it is possible to feel terribly alone even when in a relationship.
My daughter is in a dreadful relationship that has really messed with her head but she is addicted to him. She says she hates being on her own. I have often thought that it's a case of 'better the devil you know' for her.
Best wishes, Maz xx
I like my own company. Ilke my own space. I can also fall out with myself tho.
When I'm enjoying my own company I find they don't get edgy when we have run out of conversation. It's great.
I'm quite happy being on my own.
Ratter - dig large hole, step in, let a woman fill it in.
From many years experience of folk, I can honestly say that women who lose their husbands after many years of coupledom cope far better the most men in that same situation. Men seem to need 'wives' more than women need 'husbands'

There are exceptions of course.
what a stupid statement...enjoyiing your own company has nothing to do with gender...

i enjoy my own company, and was single for many years and happy that way...
