Why do women not like being on their own for any length of time but most men don't mind? Is this why a lot of women get into relationships with totally unsuitable men just so they are not alone?

I love being on my own after 40 years of pandering to the likes/dislikes/foibles of various men. I can do what I like when I like, and if there are any jobs I can't do I simply employ a 'man who can'..................
Prefer it, although I probably shouldn't say that as in 2 weeks I'm moving in to a place with my better half ;-p
I think Tim Burton and Helena Bonham Carter have the ideal relationship.............they just live next door to each other.
why do you assume so much dave, why not phrase your question in a manner not designed to get everyones backs up?

In reply to your question, I actually like my own company and do not feel distressed at being alone. :)
There are times when I really enjoy being on my own and others when I am glad I have someone there to share things with.

I think that making time for oneself within a relationship is important.

Cazzz, I like to provoke a healthy debate, not get everyone's backs up. I just comment on my observations of people i encounter through life.
I disagree, from viewing your threads you seem to like to make generilisations rather than provoke debate, maybe you need to look at the wording of your questions more..?

How could I not ? I love spending time with the only person in the universe that's got it right !
I don't think I could live with anyone again, enjoy my own space too much and as Craft says if there anything you can't do just employ a man who can ...simples

I do think its men who need company more, the amount of men I know who's wives pass away and a year later their married again just for the company !!!!!.yeeeks

^^^ That sofa looked mightily uncomfortable to me... ;oP
Sometimes I like to be on my own.......sometimes I prefer male company and conversation and sometimes i need the presence of a nice smelling, well dressed woman for dinner and sex.
I agree there Chaffinch..............men who have been widowed do seem to find it difficult to cope on their own.
Sqad.....ooohh......expect the backlash !!
murray...LOL...I am used to backlash on here .
I find it`s the other way around. Women coming out of relationships often say they need some time on their own. You never hear men say that. I don`t think many of them fare very well on their own.
As far as day to day is concerned, I love being on my own
not sure why you should get a backlash sqad, seems perfectly reasonable to me
Sqad..from a well dressed sweet smrelling woman i bid you good night....off for my antibiotic.........et al....
McCluff....yeah! I can't see the problem either.

Do you think peole who live have lived on their own for many years and never married or lived with anyone become selfish over time?
I wouldn`t say selfish. Set in their ways maybe but a selfish person would be selfish whether they were with someone or not.
