Please tell me they are to go with home/-made curries ?

I'm so craving a decent home made beef curry (my mum also used to have sultanas in it)

If you make home made curry, please give me your secret to get the meat tender.

Mine is always on the less than tender side, to put it politely.

I use chuck steak or shin, cubed, but cooked SLOWLY in a slow cooker for several hours. BTW, Aldi has a good range of chutneys that go with curries - there are four varieties, onion, pineapple, lime and chilli and papaya with lime - all "Indian-style". Bought all four today!

Hi alba,
as gingejbee said above, slow cooking is a great way to make your meat tender. Also, marinating the meat as in this recipe ..http://allrecipes.co.uk/recipe/23666/beef-v
indaloo.aspx

low cooker curries .. http://allrecipes.co....%20slow%20cooker&as=1
orry, first link didn't work? http://allrecipes.co....66/beef-vindaloo.aspx
alba if the rest of your curry tastes ok for you then I normally use goat - you will need to search out a different ethnic buthers shop

oooh vindaloo, my OH would have loved that (He might still do, but it won't love him unfortunately)

My mouth is watering, home made food, cannot be beaten.

Many thanks x

I'll do that too zeb

I used to buy runner steak and cut it into small cubes, seal it and then slow cook it on the hob.
About five to six hours( with spices added to the meat before cooking. )

Alternatively I've just got the fussiest OH ever.
