How long can home made chutney last, and does it freeze?

If you make it from a standard recipe and seal the jar/pot properly, store in a cool place out of the light, it should last for some months - make sure chutney is in contact with the cellophane jar infil to prevent mould forming.

Once opened however don't try to keep it longer than, say, two weeks.

Freezing....hmm, what's the point if you do the above. If you do freeze it bear in mind that flavours get stronger and consistency gets looser.
