My wife has got some silver earrings that have got a bit tarnished. Whats the best thing to soak them in to clean them up? Vodka, Gin, Vinegar, Coke or what?

Goddards Silver Dip. You can buy it at jewellers, and they sometimes have it in larger supermarkets.

just drop the jewellery into the jar for about 10 mins and then rinse it under cold water. The jar keeps for ages.

Actually I would get some proper jewellery cleaner to keep them clean but lipstick is a great temporary fix!
Get a clean aluminium foil container (eg ex Chinese or Indian takeaway). Pour in some bicarbonate of soda solution. Drop in the jewellery so that it is contact with the aluminium.
i know brown sauce is good for pennies - could work??
