__Hello,_-_I once had a lass (…) who used a simple kitchen trick to polish up the silver cutlery I have. The lass is long gone - as is the means of keeping the silver shiny. Is there somebody please who can tell me what need be done? I vaguely recall that silver-foil was involved - I think. Any offers gratefully accepted! Thanks.

Mmmmm, wouldn't mind, Elina. Some of those maids can be a bit errrr racey !
Ruby?
Ruby !!!!!!
No, not Ruby, Wose.
The easiest and laziest way to clean silvery cutlery is to leave it to soak in Goddard's Silver Dip.
LOL Tilly! Thought it was her then! Poor Ruby hung herself.
Do you know, I'm just glad I got shut of my silver cutlery.
Definitely not Ruby, she would have grassed me up to the cook !.
Mrs Bridges then.
Thomas (and Sarah)
Did you fancy Mrs Bridges then Tonyav?
Mmmmm, her ladyship wasn't to shabby !.
Boiling water in a deep wide pyrex bowl which has been lined with silver foil. Add a couple of dessert spoons of sode crystalls. Add the silver plate ( not sure about pure silver). Watch it fizz and remove after a couple of minutes. Magic. No good for stainless steel.
So you were familiar with 'Upstairs' then.
Certainly was, corylus. Prefered downstairs though !.
Silver dip...or bin the silver cutlery and get stainless steel.
'Ope Mr 'Usdon wasn't aware of this.
