Oooh just on my Laptop there and the screen went BLANK AND RED...never seen that before, rebooted it ok and everything appears to be working fine. I running XP. Has anyone came across this before? should I be worried ?

May be a graphics problem. Make sure the machine runs cool. A laptop is not suitable for use on a lap as it often blocks the vent exhaust of the fan. If you find it runs too hot on a flat surface, get one of those flat laptop coolers.
