what would you do?

got back from long xmas and new year break. our neighbours at one side had put a xmas card through the door and the other side had sent us a lovely special card with 'to all of you' on the front. i feel so bad as we didnt send them cards, one side has problem kids though they havent been too bad this year as they are growing up fast and the other side takes our bin in now and again but weve never chatted to them socially. weve only lived here for about a year. what should i send back if anything now as xmas is over and the new year is well under way? did think of taking a box of biscuits round and saying we have been away as im sure they will have noticed.

I wouldnt do anything, but just mention when i next saw them that i got the card thank you and that i had been away so hadnt sent any.

1 of our neighbours sent a card and, although we werent away, i didnt send one as i made donations to charities this year. I shall tell them when i next see them

next time you see them smile and thank them for the card.. a bit later on but fairly soon if you are the baking type pop round with some cupcakes well you made too many didn't you?

yeh really think you don't need to worry about this. Its done and just make sure you give a card next year. I have noticed that one of my neighbours who normally gives me a card has not done so this year. Know there is nothing I have done to upset him but really not worried - maybe he has just decided to save money or the environment!

I`d send them a Happy New Year card (if they`re still available in the shops)

just to update you,i took a box of biscuits round this afternoon. the gent came to the door and i wished him a happy new year, he sounded a bit surprised but very grateful. maybe he didnt even know his wife had sent us a special card. i still cant believe that we have not ever spoken to his wife apart from me picking up a parcel they had taken in for us, who would go out and buy a special card for someone they dont know, a very nice thought of course, but going into a special card shop and choosing an individual special card, now that is really special.
