Can anyone tell me, if you work for Dorothy Perkins or any other shop within the group, that the only way you can get a staff discount is to have credit card type of card whereby anything you want to buy has to bought through that and then paid back on a credit card type basis? There must be a card that allows a staff discount without having to get into debt?

If I was you I would enquire about a Staff Discount Card at the place where you work so that you can present it at the Cash Till each time you make an Instore purchase
Yes we had to do this when I worked for Dune in Debenhams, lots of retailers are doing this now. Under 18s could not have one, they had to have an ordinary staff discount card, some members of my team didn't want one as they were worrried about bein decined but the company negotiated with the credit providor that anyone who did not score well on the usual credit checks could have a card but only with a £50 maximum spend limit.
The cards can also be used for online shopping which was very good as it meant a better choice and better savings before discount.

thanks for that dotty. But do you HAVE to have that type of card or is a normal staff discount card be available for everybody that works there? For someone not wanting to get into debt.
