Be aware, be very aware ! It's the 'witching hour'.

ps. Mike, the witty repartée may continue, just try to see my hidden depths once the handbag-merchants are dealt with ...ok ?

on my 'clipboard' ready to pounce !
This is getting boring. If I don't see a handbag soon I'm going to bed!

... I smell faux vinyl and warm leatherette ...they're he-yerrrr (Poltergeist style) !
Not spotted anything yet but I will just get another vodka and that will help.
Question Author
Aagh - just had a decent fill (three strong beers and half a bottle of wine) and that mention of vodka has just got me wanting to look for more ! (just off to warm up some pasta)
"faux vinyl and warm leatherette"Just how poncy can you get?
Is this an English game? Is one allowed to show up with an etui, a purse, a wallet, a fanny-pack, a shopping bag; or does it really have to be a handbag?........Just curious.
I hate to say this for fear of being shot down, but I bought a fake dolce and gabbana handbag at the charity shop last week, at least the money is going to a good cause.

Hi Stewey.
"fanny-pack" ? we call them "bum bags" over here.
In the UK "fanny" means women's parts (not 'bottom'), just fyi :-)

We get spammed by 'disposable username' far-eastern handbag sales-people around this time.
Purse, wallet and shopping bag are fine. With regard to etuis and fanny-packs you will need to consult our resident expert AP, who is currently unavailable due to his warming up some cold pasta. We pre-colonials are not familiar with those terms. (p.s. having tentatively dipped my toes into the chill waters of transatlantic English, can I remind you that the word "fanny" has a slightly more rude connotation this side of the pond than it does yours.

Looks like we are to be spared from our late night handbag spamming session this time. Nighty night Mike and anyone else, à bientôt :-)
