Can you find out any information on a Peter William Allen, married to a Catherine Allen?

Peter Allen died circa 1965 and was a timpanist and his wife, Catherine, died in the early 80s and was a concert pianist.

I don't really have much information other than that at the moment. They adopted my grandfather (Peter Allen's biological nephew) around 1938 and changed his name from Emmanuel Jackson to Peter Allen.

Thanks.

I'm guessing Manchester, Dotty. That is where my Grandfather was born to his English mother (sister of Peter Allen Snr) and his Jewish Father (don't know his name). I can try and find out more information when I next speak to my nan.

My grandfather who was adopted by Peter Allen Snr was born 13/12/30 and died 06/11/06 (I think).
I have found a birth for a Peter W Allen in Jun Quarter 1920 in the West Derby Registration District, Lancashire (ref 8b 1309). The mother's maiden name was Sweeney.
There was another child born: Mildred H Allen, in March Q 1923 also in W Derby ref 8b 997, where the mother's maiden name was Sweeney.
Peter Allen and Mildred Sweeney were married in Jun Q 1919 in W Derby.
Does this sound right?

Coming forwards, there was a marriage for a Peter W Allen in Sep Q 1946 in the W Cheshire RD (ref 10a 1823), but there seems to be a bit of a hiccup in the GRO index in that there is a note to say the bride's surname was either Fellows or Stapley, first names Edith G. Not a Catherine in sight.
Did Peter William have any children of his own?
I ask that because there were two children born to an Allen / Stapley combination:
Peter M Allen born Mar Q 1945; and Pauline M Allen born Dec 1946; both births registered in W Cheshire.

Very interesting, as my granddads sister was called Pauline and she was also adopted by Peter Allen Snr and Catherine Allen, but they were both born in the 30s.

Peter William Allen Snr would have been born way before 1920, as his adopted son, my grandfather, was born in 1930.

I think I'm going to have to speak to my Nan and get some more info.
Yes, it struck me that these people would have been extremely young. That's not to say it wouldn't have happened.
In one Census return I found the household being run by the eldest daughter age 15, having been orphaned a year or two previously. So sad.

Aren't we lucky we didn't live in those times !!

Thanks for your help, btw.
