Did you catch the Look North local teatime programme there last night? They apparently did a piece about a local chip shop trying to get people to buy mackeral instead of cod/haddock?
The woman reported was giving out bits of Mackeral and they filmed in the chip ship somewhere called Haxby?
My cousin was in there buying his tea and was apparently on the report! I've just spoekn to him (he lives in Wigginton) and he says he looked like a little old man (he's 72).

Remember when the news items featured 'old ladies' of 60/70 and they seemed really old to us - doesn't seem possible that these are now the trendies from the swinging sixties!
80 is the new 60!!
Crying out loud dotty, have they heard of mackerel down Haxby way - mindst you it has gone upmarket since I left York!
My favourite fish actually!!
