Had my weekly chat with mum tonight. Was lamenting the fact that FH did not get the job he was promised after all, his ex wife is being a total bitch and I have a streaming cold. I was saying how sorry I feel for the FH and how I wish I could do something.

Best mum could come up with was "well I felt sorry for your father when he sold his farm". I said "MUM, that was in 1986!!!!!!!!!!!!" to which she said "so". So I responded "so the last time you felt sorry for anyone was 1986?!" To which she said, "well no actually, I was quite relieved". I fluffing give up.

Don't they say the most hilarious things?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mums are entitled to say whatever they want. They alone know the hardship and sacrifices they went through to raise their families.

Hope you feel better soon Barmaid, and things work out for FH, who ever he is.
