I know this question may appear to be terribly immature (and i suppose at 15, i am in the scheme of things) and naive but please answer sympathetically; i really am confused!

I am friends with this guy. But i know i like him more than that, only i would never tell him. But the thing is, when i usually like a person, i think they are cute or whatvever, but with him it's different. I have serious mentionitus, i think he's God's gift even though i'm told he's nice and all, but nothing THAT special, he gives me butterflies in the stomach and when my mind wanders, it always manages to find him again etc

Anyway, this is a round about way of asking, in your opinion, can anyone my age actually fall in love? I mean i know i am obviously not in love with this boy, i just REALLY like him, but is it possible? Could i be, but my parents would still say "don't be ridiculous, you're too young to be in love", but is that really true? Surely love knows no age right?

Disscuss!

I don't believe love has any age limits. I think it can hit anyone at anytime. When I was about your age I used to feel the same about a boy I knew... years later I saw him in a club.. he had turned into such a w**ker! I thought that every crush was love until I felt the real thing.
just a quick point, you 'sound' very articulate for a 15 year old!...I must revise my opinion of young'uns!

Jocasta, I was going to post the exact same response!
I couldn't have put it better myself, andy hughes! To add to his statement, I found love when I was 14 years old. I'm glad I took that chance because 7 years later, we got married! (4 weeks ago to be exact :-) Whatever happens, be HAPPY in your relationships, no matter what age you are; and leave no room for regrets! Good luck!

i remember this feeling, i was the same age as you and my heart absolutely, truly ACHED for this boy!

I think it's a crush. That's not to say that the feelings aren't real or important. I think if i could have my time over i would enjoy these crushes as much as possible. When you do find your true love -whatever age you may be-you'll know, because it's the same magical feeling your feeling now.

My advice would be, embrace the butterflies and drink in these wonderful feelings. You'll never forget them!

Love knows no age just like you said. Sometimes parents say things like you're too young becuase they are trying to protect you from some of the pain that life brings.......it's a false hope on their part, because they can control your feelings even less than you can!!

What lovely answers.

You can fall in love at any age, however the younger you are the easier it is to fall out of love again. I have 4 teenagers and all are always falling madly in love and then get bored.

I was married for the first time at 18 to someone I started seeing at 16. But we grew up and apart because at a young age you have changes to go through you have no control over.

Enjoy the excitement of the feelings but try not to take yourself or your life too seriously.

I think everyone has a different deffinition of love, but in my book, yes you can fall in love at 15.  I fell in love with someone when i was 18 on holiday, i only knew him two weeks and never saw or contacted him again, and now 12 years on I still know that i fell in love with him even though others might write it off as a holiday romance.  Love is a very powerful thing and i think the only 'problem' with falling in love when you're very young is it's not always very easy to handle those feelings.  It can be hard at any age.

As others have said, enjoy it and go with it, it is a wonderful feeling (and something you miss when you don't have it) Don't make decisions based on it (might sound odd) and don't be scared to let it go if that time comes.

The fullest lives, and the fondest memory's, are those where you love many people you meet along the way.

Good luck x x

Thank you everyone, what sweet and thought-provoking answers. ABers are wonderfully open minded (either that or very soppy!)!

And I think all your answers have made me realise; I don't care if it's love or not because what I feel is great anyway!

p.s. Jocasta: I like the idea that I have made you re-think your view of teens, however I hate to break it to you that my "articulate" speech is only revealed when I am aware that I am around those you appreciate it!

Weaza,

You make me feel the future is in safe hands after all.
