Hi, will be catering for 60 - 70 people at an adults birthday party. Any ideas for things that won't be too expensive? Also, if I were to do chilli / curry, how would I keep it warm? What could I serve with it?

Thanks

We use large slowcookers to keep the food warm, can you borrow some?
you can probably hire chafing dishes quite easily. cook a load of rice/naans.poppadums and let people help themselves, perhaps some jacket potatos as well?
Scampi?

I've got access to 2 'normal' size ones! Not sure it will be enough. That said, the plan was to serve cold 'snack' food as well.

Have also thought about doing a soup or stew. I could serve bread with it, so no need to worry about rice. What do you think?
jacket potatoes, just keep them wrapped in tin foil till served shoiuld keep them hot, perhaps a big pot of chilli or chicken curry and then do the buffet as normal making a selection of salads, cold meat platters, chips, dips and animals wrapped in pastry :-). or why not let someone do the catering for you and suprise your guests witha fish and chip supper. Order ahead at your local chippy of 70 lots of fish, chips and mushy peas and ask them to deliver.
