why don't you weigh one, on your kitchen scales, then multiply it by 50? A newspaper varies in size, the Sundays have all those supplements so would weigh a lot more - you need to take that into account.

Arun District Council rather helpfully have provided a page dedicated to newspaper weights...

Oh isn't it fascinating what district councils find to waste our money on??
Yes I'm sure they wasted a huge amount of money adding a page to their website 3 years ago.

Coobeastie thank you very much :)
So you are thinking of " pressing " charges so to speak ?
I stopped buying the Telegraph because of weight of the junk that came with it.
The fabulous Sunday Times comes in at over a kilo. 50 of them is like lifting a very fat child.

As to the website - it's actually refreshing that employers an find guides like this.
Its not the effort spent by Arun District Council to put it on their website that grates, its the effrt a civil servant had to go to to find the answer in the first place.
Clearly must have been a slow day (week?, month?, year?) at the office there.
A bundle of sh!t like The Mail on Sunday weighs more than The Observer !!!
I can offer no comment on weight or otherwise of daily newspapers, but I can offer one observation, my cat when presented with his newspaper covered litter tray, his preference not mine, will invariably to do his business on the observer!!!
Clearly am discerning animal ...

... who won't just poop on ANY old paper !!
I like the Guardian when my dog has the trots it seems to stick to the paper better.
Assam ... we all have different criteria by which we judge the quality of our papers.

Yours is ... erm ... as good as any !
I wonder why it attracts the sh1t better than the mail or other papers.
buildersmate, I reckon that would have taken all of three minutes to do. After that he would have been able to go back to calculating your council tax.
